Crafting Exceptional Coffee
Introduction
There's something truly magical about a freshly made cup of coffee. From the moment the beans are ground to the first invigorating sip, each step in the process is a journey of anticipation and delight.
For many people, the smell of coffee is associated with positive experiences, such as waking up to the aroma of a freshly brewed pot in the morning, enjoying a leisurely coffee break with friends, or savouring a comforting cup on a chilly day.
Whether it's the comforting ritual of the morning brew or a midday pick-me-up, a freshly made cup of coffee has the power to uplift, energize, and inspire. It's more than just a beverage – it's a moment of pure joy, savoured one sip at a time.

Challenge
Not just the external covering of your product, packaging is the true essence of your brand and the protective barrier to keep its contents and consumers safe. With that in mind, pouches are a great choice to pack coffee for several reasons.
Freshness Preservation: Pouches offer excellent barrier properties, protecting coffee from exposure to moisture, air, light, and other external factors that can degrade its quality and flavour. This helps to preserve the freshness of the coffee beans or ground coffee for longer periods, ensuring a delicious and aromatic cup every time.
Convenience: Pouches are lightweight, flexible, and easy to handle, making them convenient for both consumers and producers. They are portable, stackable, and space-efficient, allowing for easy storage and transportation. Pouches are also resealable, allowing consumers to open and close them multiple times while maintaining freshness.
Versatility: Pouches come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and formats, offering versatility to accommodate different types of coffee products, including whole beans, ground coffee, single-serve pods, and instant coffee. They can be customized with various features such as zip-lock closures, tear notches, and one-way degassing valves to meet specific packaging needs.
Brand Visibility and Shelf Appeal: Pouches provide ample space for branding, labelling, and graphic design, allowing coffee companies to showcase their brand identity and differentiate their products on store shelves. Vibrant colours, eye-catching graphics, and informative labelling can attract consumers' attention and influence purchasing decisions.
Sustainability: Pouches made from eco-friendly materials such as recyclable plastics, compostable films, or bio-based materials offer sustainable packaging options for coffee brands looking to reduce their environmental footprint. Sustainable pouches help to minimize packaging waste and appeal to environmentally conscious consumers.
Cost-Effectiveness: Pouches are often more cost-effective than rigid packaging options such as cans or jars, making them an attractive choice for coffee producers, particularly for small-batch or specialty coffees. The lightweight and flexible nature of pouches also reduces shipping costs and storage space requirements, contributing to overall cost savings.
Benefit
Overall, pouches offer a combination of freshness preservation, convenience, versatility, brand visibility, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness that make them an excellent choice for packing coffee, whether it's for retail shelves, online sales, or on-the-go consumption.
Result
After speaking with our team here at National Flexible, we worked together to produce a printed gusseted bag for the retail packs which they supply to their baristas. The PET PE laminate film has two colours and a matt varnish, giving the packaging clear, shelf appeal.
200 Degrees Coffee needed their packaging to keep their product safe and fresh so together, we produced a pre-made valve, providing a clever system for expelling gasses, keeping the coffee super fresh. So not only does the coffee taste perfect, the packaging looks great too!
