The Plastic Tax is being introduced in April 2022 to “provide a clear economic incentive for businesses to use recycled material in the production of plastic packaging, which will create greater demand for this material and in turn stimulate increased levels of recycling and collection of plastic waste, diverting it away from landfill or incineration”.

Brief Summary
The Sci-Mx Pro2Go bars are one of the market leaders and the brief was to make the ‘Gooey’ version stand out whilst beating the Plastic Tax.
The resultant pack uses 70% recycled content PET and the inner web of metallised OPP has 30%. The pack is 8 colours reverse printed flexo and then a tactile lacquer printed on the other side of the PET in a pattern to give a textured effect whilst still retaining the glossiness of the PET.
